In August 2023, VietCorps carried out our service mission to Vietnam. We visited an elementary school located in Son Tay, Vietnam, which is about one-hour drive away from Hanoi (Co Dong B Elementary School). Despite the uncertainty and challenges presented by the COVID pandemic, VietCorps members travelled to and successfully completed a service mission in Vietnam from late June to early July 2022.  Among our other things, we visited and presented gifts to two orphanages in Đồng Nai Province (the Xuan Tam and Dieu Phap Orphanages). During the COVID-19 lockdown in Vietnam, many individuals faced severe food shortage.  VietCorps provided financial assistance to a food assistance program to assist under-privileged individuals.  

Xuan Tam Orphanage is located in Xuan Loc, Dong Nai.  VietCorps made donations for the purchase of computers and other equipment that enable the children to study on-line  during the COVID lockdown.

Dieu Phap Temple Orphanage is located in Bien Hoa, Dong Nai Province.

Mai Am Hy Vong is an orphanage located in Quang Binh Province in Central Vietnam.  Established in 2008, it is caring for over 115 children and individuals with significant physical and mental impairments.   During the COVID pandemic, this orphanage is in desperate need of support and assistance.   

On February 8, 2025, VietCorps had a party to celebrate the Lunar New Year.  It was a wonderful opportunity to catch up with members of VietCorps’ family.  In this Year of the Snake and in the coming years, we wish you and your loved ones Good Health, Success, Peace, and Happiness.

In June 2024, our VietCorps extended family came together to enjoy a picnic/BBQ event at a beautiful horse farm in Maryland (the Black Lotus Farm). With our young tutors coming home from college, it was a wonderful opportunity for all of us to gather and to discuss VietCorps’ past and future projects, and most importantly to enjoy each other’s company and friendships.

We had a fun time reconnecting through a book club discussion!  

Each week VietCorps' youth volunteers have virtual lessons with their students in Vietnam to practice conversing in English and engage in cultural exchange. 

VietCorps has a strong "corps" of talented and passionate students spearheading our  projects, including our English Tutoring Program and the development of our website.
